If you are ever in downtown Mobile, make sure you check out Ruby Slipper Cafe! They were originated in Louisiana and they have locations in Alabama and Florida ! The location that we went to is right down on Royal St ! Right across the street from a car parking garage. What’s so cool about this location is that it use to be a bank ! When you walk in, you are greeted by the most amazing staff and the wait wasn’t long at all so we were seated immediately. If you want to miss the crowd, the best time is to go in between the times of 10:30-11. Around 12 P.M., the lunch crowd starts to come in. It gets super busy around that time because the place closes at 2 P.M. Everyone’s trying to get some of that Ruby Slipper goodness !
When we were sat down and received the menu, Neika and I almost couldn’t decide what to get. BUT we finally made a decision and decided on 4 dishes. Neika got the BBQ Shrimp & Grits & the Banana Pecan Pancakes and I settled for the Migos, which is Eggs with pico de giyo, chorizo, tortilla chips and some kind of sauce. It may have been sour cream but I’m not sure. Either way, it was delicious. I, also, got the Banana Foster French Toast. We definitely could have shared either the french toast or the pancakes because the portions were HUGE. Also, I really love how those dishes came with bacon! Usually you have to pay for it separately. It’s silly but I appreciated it very much. We also got a Mixed Berry Mimosa which was so so good! You get a lot for what you pay for so everything was so worth it. They have so many options to choose from so you are bound to find something that you will like.
